Happy New Year! We had planned to spend New Year's Eve having a quiet night at home watching movies, but someone must have told Olivia that it is usually a more exciting night. She was super hyper and didn't go to sleep until after 10pm. We still got to watch our movies, we just took a lot of breaks and stayed up way later than usual!

Olivia is still a little busy body. She has so many new toys to play with and so little time...

She is also a total ham. Anytime she sees the camera, she gets the biggest smile and she even poses. We try to hide the camera until just before we take the picture, but she is too smart. The only way to get a "spontaneous" picture of her is to get it when she isn't looking.

She really likes her musical learning table, especially the red piano key. She pushes it over and over and over. Luckily there are 3 different settings so we can switch it up every once in a while. On the learning setting it says "red," the spanish setting says "red, rojo", on the music setting it plays the chopsticks song, and on the play setting it just plays a single note. Even with all the variety, I am hoping she gets a new favorite color soon!

Posing again...

... and again

This time she decided to do something a little different and lean into the camera. Also, notice how she doesn't want the seahorse to steal the spotlight. Right after this picture she pushed it all the way to the side.

Later that night she made a startiling discovery...daddy has hair on the top of his head! Pulling mommy's hair is one of her favorite games so she was a little confused why she couldn't pull on daddy's. She got over it pretty quickly and just used his head as drum instead.

On Saturday, she wanted to show us that she is a big girl who doesn't need a crib bumper anymore. During "naptime" she untied all of the ties.

She was so proud.

Later that very same day, she got her leg stuck between 2 of the bars.

Her top teeth still haven't come in, but they are super close. The last few days have been a little rough. She has been on a constant search for the perfect thing to chew on.

The strings on my sweatshirt are always a favorite. Well, they were a favorite...

...until we had to cut them all out because she almost swallowed one and I had to pull it out of her throat.

I guess she will just have to settle for this teething ring...
...which feels better anyway (mommy was right all along)!
As you can see, Olivia is a very adventerous little girl. She rarely sits still, is very stubborn, has a million ideas (already), and we wouldn't have it any other way!
PS. Keep an eye out for videos of "crawling." I'll try to post them soon.
