On Labor Day Weekend (yes, I am almost 2 months behind), Grandma Laurie and Grandpa Brian came to visit. On Sunday, we drove up to Apple Hill, which is about an hour east of Woodland (towards Lake Tahoe).
We went to a few of the farms, but didn't pick any apples. It was opening weekend and it was really, really hot. Instead, we walked around, looked in some shops, and saw some animals.
Grandpa Brian helped Olivia ride a pony named MacIntosh!
At one of the farms, we walked down a big hill to wear the trees were. Howie and Olivia led the way and the rest of us followed. Unfortunately, we didn't think about how we'd get back up the hill. For the pregnant lady (me) and the Grandpa who's had knee surgery, getting back up in the scorching heat was a lot of work, but we made it!
Olivia had a blast running up this hill, but didn't really enjoy running down. She got going so quick that she couldn't stop and it scared her a little bit (we all laughed to ourselves).
Even though we didn't pick any apples, we bought a half bushel to share and a pie to eat for dessert. Next year, we'll wait for a cooler day so that we can pick some too!
